Blush

They have this amazing wall of paper flowers that is excellent for taking selfies in front of.
One of MANY charming things--they give you free "failed" macaron halves!

The cupcakes are lovely but they have to keep them refrigerated,
so if you want one you should plan to wait about 15 min for it to warm up.

The staff is SO nice.

They have all this adorable mismatched china.

And you can get a whole pot of tea!

Notes:
  • It seems to be run by a group of friends.  They are awfully nice.  The pastry chef is a bit of a hottie.
  • We liked the macarons more than the cupcakes.  The salted caramel macaron is scrummy.
  • We wish the lighting weren't quite so harsh. We recommend perhaps lamps instead of the fluorescent overhead lights?

Min Sok Chon

We're always charmed by these call bells.

The elusive potato salad!

THIS FRIED RICE IS AMAAAAZING.

Galbi?  It was good; I mean, how can you go wrong.

Andrew loved these sea snails.  Like REALLY loved them.
I liked the little circles of noodles.

The pancake was just okay.

Guess who ordered the fish cakes!

And you get a lollipop!  Just like at the bank when I was a kid.

Notes:
  • Jenne LOVED the kimchi fried rice.
  • This place has a nice, jolly vibe.  An ideal place for a birthday.  Dinner, drinks, then karaoke!
  • The odeng was pretty good, although the broth was a little too sweet for my taste.
  • Every surface is sticky (the floors, the tables...)

Infini Tea

This almond coffee drink was so good that I went back a few days later.
Ask for 1/4 sweet, otherwise you will go into sugar shock.

Rating: Two thumbs up
Date: 7/11/14
Time in: 2:45 PM
Servers' recommendations: Honey milk green tea
What we ordered: Almond coffee milk tea, mango juice (Yes, we were cheating by not ordering the server's recommendation, but the fact is, with beverages like these, you like what you like.)
Number in our party: 2

Notes:
  • You can get different levels of sweetness -- 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full, or 0. We recommend 1/4.
  • It is charming!
  • The air conditioning feels so lovely.
  • The music is at a nice level.
  • Not too crowded -- everyone's probably at Up2You.
  • The server/cashier is very cheery.
  • They must also have an artist on staff -- the murals on the wall look like they were done in-house.
  • We will come back to try the food menu!

Jin's Pot

We enjoyed these fancy water glasses!

You get boiled peanuts -- pretty tasty if you're into boiled peanuts.

There are many interesting meats in this dish.

Rating: Two thumbs up
Date: 7/11/2014
Time in: 1:22 PM
Time out: 2:36 PM
Servers' recommendations: Jin's Pot (sour), Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle
What we ordered: Jin's Pot (sour)
Number in our party: 2
Final check amount: $21.59
Price per person: $10.80

Notes:
  • We didn't recognize a lot of items on the menu.
  • It's VERY quiet.  There's not even music!
  • The luncheon meat in the hotpot was delish.  Like firm slices of Spam.  Yum.
  • Jenne liked the broth a lot.  I (Miko) wasn't crazy about it.  It has a slight bitter note.
  • Fried pork in stew!  That is interesting and unexpected.
  • The mystery meat pot reminds me a bit of our experience at Gorilla, but without the pounding music.
  • The staff is very nice.  They have a Brita filter for their water jug, which is a nice, thoughtful detail.
  • The boiled peanuts are tasty.
  • The little details are very cute -- the coasters, glasses, trivets.
